How do I get ready for A Course in Gratitude?
Step 1. You've already completed Step 1 and you may not have even realized it! Step 1 is to come to the awareness that you want to explore ways to make life more pleasant. That inner realization: I want my life to be easier, happier, more joyful... caused you to begin searching for some help or answer or guidance. That search brought you here.
Step 2. Now that you are here, you can begin to engage in your process of growth. Growth means expanding or moving from where you are to another place. So, gather your personal tools: your curiosity to know, your willingness to learn, your determination to keep going, your inner strength to use when you want to quit and your trust in knowing that who you are becoming is who you always wanted to be.
Step 3. Then explore the materials offered here. Discover many tools, suggestions and strategies for holding gratitude and thankfulness as cornerstones of your life. The key is to use the information otherwise it is of no use to you. I recently heard a quote that says it all, "To Know and not Do, Is to Not Know." I spent many years reading, going to workshops, watching inspiring movies and listening to lectures from Spiritual Masters--all the while wondering why my life never changed. When I heard that quote I suddenly understood why...I had been gathering information and not using it! As soon as I began using the tools and strategies I had gathered, shifts began to occur.

Your Gratitude Journal is the place you will record your private thoughts. It is the place you will write out your desires and to formulate your most perfect life! When you record your thoughts you are able to see the transformation in your perceptions and actions. Writing in your Gratitude Journal is not a requirement.
The time you spend writing in your Journal can feel like time having a fantastic conversation with your best friend. What would you tell your best friend about your day??? Your best friend always listens patiently, with a broad smile and love flowing from their hearts.
